Welcome to the openingdoors website

openingdoors commenced its operation in 1982 as Warrington Action for Homeless when representatives from several local agencies came together to respond to the increasing problem of single youth homelessness in Warrington. A Trustee Board was formed and volunteers were recruited for service delivery.

The Charity has expanded its work with homeless and vulnerable people within the Warrington area and is developing services throughout the North West.

The Charity is fully committed to the challenges required in promoting new ways of working, both inside and outside the organisation. It acknowledges the need for creative solutions in the prevention of homelessness; to partnerships; in raising its own funds; contracted service delivery, serving the needs of service users and providing key input into supporting complex needs.

The ‘Futures’ project is the most recent project and ensures that the Charity works with homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded people of all ages supporting their complex needs. The aim is to respond to people with complex needs providing interventions, education, information and other opportunities to assist the move into an independent and healthy lifestyle.

To be a lead provider of cost efficient services that will improve the quality of life of homeless and vulnerable people and will support their independent living by working in partnership with agencies and service users.
