Drop in Centre
Help and advice is provided to young people who are homeless, vulnerable and/or in need of support. All referrals are taken at this point and the assessment enables a support plan to be initiated for the individual.
Grange Avenue - 16-22 year olds
The aim of the resettlement programme is to enable young people to develop their independent living skills with the goal of moving them into their own accommodation, with the ability to manage their own tenancy.
Supported Lodgings -16-22 year olds
This service is for young people from various backgrounds. This may involve family or other relationship problems; leaving care; adoption breakdown and many other issues. Providers within the local community who have a spare room, ensure that young people are supported and have the necessary life skills to move towards independence and permanent tenancies.
1st Base Night Shelter - 18 years old & upwards
Providing overnight emergency accommodation to people of all ages from 18 years upwards. This scheme supports complex needs and assists the service users to return to a more settled lifestyle. Some people stay at the project for just one night and others several weeks.
Floating Support
Support is provided to people of all ages who have moved into their own permanent tenancy and require continued support regarding, safety and security; life skills; money/debt budgeting; community and neighbourhood relations; and other general support. The charity is able to offer varying levels of assistance dependent upon the needs of the individual.
Complex Needs
Providing support to homeless and vulnerable people of all ages with a multiplicity of complex needs. Such as drugs, alcohol, mental health problems, disabilities, learning difficulties, general health problems and challenging behaviours.
Drug Action Team Partnership
openingdoors and Drug Action Team are currently operating a scheme to support homeless people with drug and alcohol problems via informal networks. The 1st Base Night Shelter service is the initial focus of operations linked with the YMCA. The aim is to ensure that homeless people can access timely support, assessment and advice in dealing with their complex problems.
